East Central HomeSchool fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Ezekiel Academy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 87-85. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Monday (60), East Central HomeSchool still had to take the loss.
East Central HomeSchool's defeat came about despite a quality game from Greyson Boyd, who scored 33 points along with two steals. That was a full 38.8% of East Central HomeSchool's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Anthony Knetter was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Southern Christian can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against Grace Christian by a score of 64-56. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Southern Christian considering their 14-point performance the contest before.
East Central HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Southern Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5.
East Central HomeSchool was able to grind out a solid victory over Southern Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2021, winning 56-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Central HomeSchool since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
