Softball Recap: Maywood Academy Picks Up Ninth Consecutive Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Maywood Academy had no problem doing just that on Monday. They blew past the Mendez Jaguars 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Nighthawks, who have now won 13 matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was Maywood Academy's ninth in a row) raised their record to 13-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Mendez, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-4 record.

Coming up, Maywood Academy will take on Sherman Oaks CES at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Nighthawks will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last 15 contests. Mendez does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
