The St. Francis Red Raiders pushed their score all the way to 66 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute by a score of 69-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (56), St. Francis still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, St. Francis still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Neely, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 35 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Neely has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Leyton Roberts, who scored nine points.
St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jay?meir Goosby, who scored 23 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mekhi Gidney, who scored 21 points.
St. Francis now has a losing record at 8-9. As for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-7.
St. Francis will face off against the Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jamestown has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 714 points over their last ten matches. As for St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, they will be playing at home against the Tigers at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
