Division III recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Division III this week, Mt. Pleasant beat Tiverton 41-9. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Kilties.
Burrillville was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Exeter-West Greenwich. The Broncos came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 30 last week.
Moses Brown's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Eric Cosmopulos threw for 248 and 2 touchdowns and Sebastian Ferrell had 80 yards receiving. On the ground Andrew Howard chipped in 91 yards. Kuba Witczak helped Moses Brown's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 64 yards.
He went 13-25 with 1 interception.
Ferrell was the best wideout in the league this week as the Quakers topped Classical. Ferrell tallied 2 receptions for 80 yards. Witczak helped Moses Brown's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 64 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Michael Massella. The East Greenwich star has 19 catches for 349 yards.
The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between Mt. Pleasant and East Greenwich. Paul Rao's team comes into the matchup ranked sixth in the state, while the Avengers ranks 24th.
Moses Brown was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in Division III. Willie Edwards' team vanquished the Purples 27-2 earlier in the week.
