The Wawasee Warriors's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 50-27 margin over Mishawaka. Given Wawasee's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Mishawaka is ranked 236th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Wawasee to victory were Lucy Wilkinson and Mackenzie Hackleman. Wilkinson scored 13 points along with four steals, while Hackleman scored 18 points along with eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilkinson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Couture, who scored 13 points.
Wawasee's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Mishawaka, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.
Wawasee will be playing in front of their home fans against Plymouth at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mishawaka will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against South Bend Adams at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
