The East Rowan Mustangs suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Central Cabarrus 111-37. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for East Rowan in their matchups with Central Cabarrus: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aiden Lino, who scored five points.
Josh Dalton was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks for Central Cabarrus. Desmond Kent Jr. was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
East Rowan bumped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Central Cabarrus, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.
East Rowan will be playing at home against Lake Norman Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Braylon Irelan and Drake Jones. As for Central Cabarrus, they will head out on the road to square off against South Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Rowan comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
