Having just played yesterday, the Houston Christian Mustangs will jump right back in to play the Salpointe Catholic Lancers at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Houston Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Salpointe Catholic likes a good challenge.
Even though Pinnacle scored an imposing 72 points on Thursday, Houston Christian still came out on top. Houston Christian walked away with a 79-72 victory over Pinnacle.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 79-43, which was the final score in Salpointe Catholic's tilt against Clovis West on Thursday. Salpointe Catholic was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-16.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Bobby Smith, who scored seven points. M. J. Gedebou was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Salpointe Catholic struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Houston Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Salpointe Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
