The El Dorado Aztecs had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Eastlake 42-27 on Tuesday. The victory was just what El Dorado needed coming off of a 76-54 defeat in their prior contest.
El Dorado was led to victory by Aralyn Nahle and Hannah Hicks. Nahle scored 12 points, while Hicks scored seven points along with 18 rebounds. Those 18 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Aryam Gomez, who scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals.
El Dorado's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Eastlake, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
El Dorado will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pebble Hills at 6:00 p.m. Pebble Hills presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than El Dorado in Texas (Pebble Hills is ranked 110th, while El Dorado is ranked 535th). As for Eastlake, they will head out on the road to face off against Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
