Baseball Game Preview: Atlantic Christian Sharks vs. Glades Central Raiders

The Atlantic Christian Sharks will head out on the road to square off against the Glades Central Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Atlantic Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Atlantic Christian's offense. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (10-0), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Micah Herring made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Meanwhile, Glades Central lost 18-5 to Glades Day on Tuesday.

Glades Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christopher Leon, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Another was Emmanuel Ruiz, who scored a run and stole three bases.

Glades Central dropped their record down to 4-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Atlantic Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Atlantic Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Glades Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Atlantic Christian took their victory against Glades Central in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 10-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sharks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
