The Tift County Blue Devils and the Colquitt County Packers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Tift County is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Packers in Georgia (the Blue Devils are ranked 182nd, while the Packers are ranked 393rd).
Tift County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 56-27 loss at the hands of Lee County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Tift County has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Colquitt County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 50-31 to Lowndes. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Colquitt County in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost six in a row.
Tift County's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11. As for Colquitt County, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.
Tift County was able to grind out a solid win over the Packers in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 45-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tift County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
