AAAAA Region 7A recap October 8, 2013
Creekview moved up to 167 from 197 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAAAA Region 7A. The Grizzlies climbed the ranks as a result of besting Sequoyah 17-14.
Creekview and the Chiefs played the closest game in the league this week, with Creekview eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory. Kyle Wilkie threw for 271 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 12 yards during the win.
Dj Pearson threw for 286 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Pearson put up the best numbers in passing as Northview defeated Cambridge. Pearson's favorite target this week was Matty Biondich, who caught 5 passes for 175 yards.
Northview's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Titans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pearson has thrown for 1,426 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Biondich has 37 catches for 602 yards.
As it stands, the Titans are in second, while Terry Crowder's team is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Northview and the Grizzlies face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Chad Davenport's team comes in having scored 123 this season, while Creekview has scored 120. The Titans scored 34 points last week as they bested the Bears.
Northview took down Cambridge 34-17 last week, the largest margin of any game. Pearson in the win.
