Basketball Recap: Hagerman Wins Going Away Against Loving

A well-balanced attack led Hagerman over Loving in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. The Hagerman Bobcats put the hurt on the Loving Falcons with a sharp 64-41 victory. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Jevon Aguilar continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 11-for-23 to rack up 26 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Hagerman is undefeated when Aguilar posts three or more steals, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Felix Chacon, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Hagerman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, Loving had strong showings from Tristen Onsurez, who scored 23 points, and Cameron Allen, who earned four points and 11 boards. That was a full 56.1% of Loving's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ricky Fuentes, who had eight points and nine rebounds.

Hagerman is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Loving, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Hagerman has already played their next contest, a 54-48 win against Jal on the 3rd. As for Loving, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 47-39 loss against Eunice on the 4th.
