Mountlake Terrace had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 5-5 to make it four. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stanwood Spartans. That's two games in a row now that the Hawks have lost by exactly five runs.

Charlotte Snook was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Hailey Taron was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
As for Stanwood, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games.
Like Mountlake Terrace, Stanwood also got a great game from a two-way player: Megan Stulc. Throwing, Stulc struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Addison Anderson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Stulc went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Anderson went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was Stulc's first of the season.
In other batting news, Jordan Rancourt and Rubi Lopez did most of the damage at the plate: Rancourt went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Lopez went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That home run marked the first that Rancourt has launched this season. Reagan Ryan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Mountlake Terrace didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-2 win against Shorewood on the 18th. As for Stanwood, they have also already played their next game, a 10-2 victory against Monroe on the 17th.
