East Valley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, East Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Fulton, taking the game 52-45.
East Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lukas Carone led the charge by scoring 23 points along with two steals. Carone hasn't dropped below 15points for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Jasper Mejia, who dropped a double-double on 13 rebounds and ten assists.
Meanwhile, Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences escaped with a win on Monday against Canoga Park by the margin of a single free throw, 46-45.
East Valley's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
East Valley skirted past Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences 69-66 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
