Baseball Recap: Barrington Extends Winning Streak to Three

With a playoff win on the line, Barrington rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past the Round Lake Panthers 11-1. The Fillies/Broncos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.

Jack Postma looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Will Renshaw was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Brandon Fryer also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Barrington hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Round Lake struck out nine times.

The win was the third in a row for Barrington, bringing their record up to 23-11-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Round Lake, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-22.

As of now, neither Barrington nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
