Basketball Recap: Easton Hupp Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lake Country Christian

After losing to Lake Country Christian the last time they met, Liberty Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Liberty Christian Warriors took down the Lake Country Christian Eagles 81-66 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberty Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Easton Hupp, who went 11 of 20 en route to 32 points and six assists. The matchup was Hupp's 16th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Lohmann, who went 9 of 15 on his way to 23 points and five assists.

Liberty Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

Liberty Christian pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.0 points per game. As for Lake Country Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Liberty Christian and Varsity Opponent will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Country Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fort Worth THESA at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
