The Mapletown Maples's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight defeat. They took a 73-57 bruising from Bentworth. Mapletown has struggled against Bentworth recently, as their match on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Bentworth got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Christopher Harper out in front who scored 25 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harper has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Moessner, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Mapletown dropped their record down to 2-16 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Bentworth, their win ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16.
Coincidentally, Mapletown and Bentworth will both be playing West Greene the next time they take the court. Mapletown will host West Greene at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Bentworth will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
