The Hoover Vikings lost to the Alliance Aviators back in December of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Hoover pulled ahead with a 51-50 photo finish over Alliance. Given Hoover's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Alliance is ranked 353rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Zac Braucher was his usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds. Crew Cain was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Hoover and bumps their season record up to 11-6. As for Alliance, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoover will take on Boardman at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Boardman is coming into the matchup with seven straight losses on the road, meaning Hoover will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Alliance, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marlington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
