Spearfish extended their losing streak  to six  on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-14 in the process. They fell  9-6 to the Roosevelt Rough Riders. The Spartans were not able to make up for their  loss to the Rough Riders from their previous meeting  back in May of 2024.

On Roosevelt's side,  Desiree Hinsch made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out 14 batters over  seven innings while giving up  six earned runs off   eight  hits. Hinsch has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-5 with one  home run and one  triple.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Vanessa Kiggins, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. Another player making a difference was  Ella Carlson, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  RBI.
 Spearfish wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  match,  a  17-0  defeat against Brandon Valley on the 23rd. Roosevelt has also already played their next  contest (against Rapid City Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
