Make it five blowout wins for the Coal Ridge Titans this season. They breezed by Rifle at home to the tune of 64-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Coal Ridge has posted since November 28, 2023.
Coal Ridge's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lochlan Wade, who scored 18 points. Ben Simons was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Rifle's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adan Medina, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Miranda, who scored six points.
Coal Ridge pushed their record up to 6-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Rifle, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coal Ridge will take on Basalt at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Basalt's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. As for Rifle, they will head out on the road to challenge Aspen at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Aspen is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.
