The Liberty Minutemen have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were dealt a 73-32 loss at the hands of Liberty Christian on Friday. Liberty has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Shania Brown and Annabelle Nance certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Brown dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while Nance scored 13 points. Brown is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taniesha Brown, who scored four points.
Liberty has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-5 record this season. As for Liberty Christian, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.
Liberty will head out on the road to square off against the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Amherst County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Minutemen are ranked 67th). As for Liberty Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hilltoppers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glass is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
