After a string of three wins, the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 71-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kinston. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wallace-Rose Hill in their matchups with Kinston: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Wallace-Rose Hill saw an underclassman step up: Jamarae Lamb scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lamb has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Marlo Harris, who scored 13 points.
Wallace-Rose Hill bumped their record down to 5-6 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Kinston, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wallace-Rose Hill will square off against East Duplin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. East Duplin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while Wallace-Rose Hill is ranked 306th). As for Kinston, they will head out on the road to take on North Lenoir at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
