Wiggins is 2-8 against Holyoke since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wiggins Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Holyoke Dragons at 4:00 p.m. Hopefully Wiggins is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Holyoke in Colorado (Wiggins is ranked 95th, while Holyoke is ranked 216th).
Last Tuesday, Wiggins didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Akron, but they still walked away with a 47-43 victory.
Wiggins' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taelynn Epple, who scored nine points. Riley Hunt was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Holyoke's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Merino 75-42. Holyoke was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-14.
The win got Wiggins back to even at 8-8. As for Holyoke, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-12.
Everything came up roses for Wiggins against Holyoke in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 50-20 win. With Wiggins ahead 30-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.
