The Ada Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight defeat. They fell to Millwood 46-40. Ada was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Ada saw an underclassman step up: Sadie Epps scored 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylynn Truett, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Ada's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Millwood, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-11.
Ada will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuttle presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cougars in Oklahoma (the Tigers are ranked 32nd, while the Cougars are ranked 201st). As for Millwood, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Saints at 6:30 p.m.
