The Concord Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Las Lomas at home and fell 83-46. While losing is never fun, Concord can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1005th, while the Knights are ranked 274th).
Will Jones went supernova for Las Lomas, scoring 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Xayne Mojadiddi, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Concord's defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Las Lomas, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concord won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Mt. Diablo has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 11. As for Las Lomas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Acalanes focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
