AA Region 8 recap November 19, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in AA Region 8 this week, Washington-Wilkes beat Wesleyan 46-14. The victory was the 11th in a row for the Tigers.
Jefferson scaled the state rankings by moving to 77 from 107 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Dragons climbed the ranks as a result of besting Westminster 28-0.
Rabun County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hunter Sims threw for 174 and 1 touchdown and Jordan Oliver had 75 yards receiving. On the ground Charlie Woerner contributed 64 yards. Alden Wright helped Rabun County's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 78 yards.
The Wildcats' dynamic duo of Sims and Oliver proved tough for Greater Atlanta Christian to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Wright helped Rabun County's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 78 yards.
Union County's Joseph Mancuso and Jacob Rogers have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Mancuso has thrown for 2,578 yards this season, while Rogers has 65 catches for 1,035 yards. Woerner from Rabun County leads the league in rushing with 918 yards.
Woerner has rushed for 918 yards on 94 carries so far this year.
The Panthers lost to Lovett 56-21 last week, the largest margin of any game.
