The Pike Red Devils will take on the Lawrence Central Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pike is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Pike's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Greenwood Christian Academy 8-0. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Red Devils as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jimquell Young, Jr and Lincoln Sigmund made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Young, Jr tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Sigmund didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Young, Jr got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run, while Sigmund went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Young, Jr a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rory Weaver, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Lawrence Central might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Kokomo who claimed the real prize. The Bears fell just short of the Wildkats by a score of 6-4.
Jayden Dorsey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Solomon Rashid, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Pike now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Lawrence Central, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pike has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lawrence Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Pike couldn't quite finish off Lawrence Central in their previous meeting back in April and fell 8-6. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
