Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Catholic Takes a Loss

St. Joseph Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They fell 13-8 to the Jackson Academy Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-5 on Tuesday.

Jackson Winans was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double. St. Joseph Catholic is 4-2 when Winans posts two or more runs, but 5-14 otherwise. John Dean D'Antonio was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

St. Joseph Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Jackson Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: St. Joseph Catholic beat the Raiders by a score of 5-2 later that day.
