2A District 8 recap September 17, 2013
Wyandotte's Clayton Stone rumbled for the longest rushing play in 2A District 8 this season in his game against Adair last week. Stone ran for 69 yards on the play and finished with 100 on the day as his team fell to the Warriors.
Commerce was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to first in the league. The Tigers beat Cherryvale 42-16 earlier in the week.
Quapaw's dynamic duo of Bailey Lasiter and Beau Kibel proved to be unstoppable against Fairland, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lasiter threw for 140 yards and Kibel had 130 yards receiving. Jabes Turner helped Quapaw's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 29 yards.

DC Chance was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 238 yards as Commerce lost to Fairland. Tyler Estep also contributed to the rushing game with 42 yards on the ground.
Kibel was the best wideout in 2A District 8 this week as CHARLES PREAUS's team fell to Austin Martin's team.
Lasiter put up the best numbers through the air as the Wildcats fell to the Owls.
Chance was a passing and rushing force as Steve Moss' team defeated the Chargers.
Chance was a beast in the backfield as the Tigers bested Cherryvale.
Quapaw's Lasiter and Kibel have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-7 quarterback Lasiter has thrown for 157 yards this season, while Kibel has 7 catches for 147 yards. Chance from Commerce leads the league in rushing with 315 yards.
Salina moved up to 176 from 211 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats were able to make move up by topping Inola 34-29.
