Paul W. Bryant has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Bessemer City Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Paul W. Bryant had to suffer through a rough 60-13 loss at the hands of Hillcrest. While losing is never fun, Paul W. Bryant can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Hillcrest is ranked sixth).
Meanwhile, Bessemer City earned a 28-21 win over Central on Friday. The victory was just what Bessemer City needed coming off of a 28-0 loss in their prior game.
Bessemer City can attribute much of their success to Christopher Whittsett, who rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Cederian Moore, who rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Hillcrest's win bumped their season record to 9-0 while Paul W. Bryant's loss dropped theirs to 3-5.
Paul W. Bryant suffered a grim 53-32 defeat to Bessemer City when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Paul W. Bryant have more luck at home instead of on the road?
