The Clairton Bears lost against the West Mifflin Titans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Clairton took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Mifflin. Clairton has struggled against West Mifflin recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Bryant Blair and Taris Wooding certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Blair scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three blocks, while Wooding scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Wooding's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Wright jr., who scored six points.
Clairton now has a losing record at 4-5. As for West Mifflin, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
Clairton will finish 2023 at home by hosting Geibel Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Geibel Catholic is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. West Mifflin will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against McKeesport at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. McKeesport is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
