LEAD Academy came out on top against Donelson Christian Academy by a score of 59-52. Given LEAD Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Donelson Christian Academy is ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
LEAD Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Petway, who scored 16 points. The contest was Petway's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Balin Gaines, who scored 15 points.
LEAD Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Donelson Christian Academy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LEAD Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Watertown at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Watertown is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Donelson Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Ezell-Harding Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
