The Bluegrass Blazers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 48-25 walloping at the hands of Rocket City. If Bluegrass hoped to take revenge for the 29-21 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rocket City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elizabeth ( Bess ) Shea, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Shea has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of MacKenzie Baker, who scored 12 points.
Bluegrass' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rocket City, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bluegrass will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Christian Educational Consortium at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Rocket City, they will head out on the road to take on Life Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
