Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Eustis' Winning Streak

Eustis easily dispatched South Sumter last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Eustis Panthers fell just short of the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs by a score of 37-35 on Tuesday. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Mount Dora Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cassi Monn led the charge by putting up eight points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds gave Monn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aranya Alexander, who posted seven points.

With the defeat, Eustis broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-1. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Eustis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-5 victory against Lyman on the 11th. As for Mount Dora Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-25 win against South Lake on the 12th.
