Grant Alberts was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyler Bell, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Central Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Butler on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Tornado by a score of 5-4. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.
CJ Proch put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one double. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
Proch wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chase Gelpi, who went 3-for-5 with one RBI. David Ketterer also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Pine-Richland, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.
Pine-Richland was able to grind out a solid win over Central Catholic when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 6-3. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
