The Piedmont Classical Bobcats's 35-9 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by Central Carolina Prep 79-49 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Piedmont Classical can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 464th, while Central Carolina Prep is ranked 203rd).
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cameron Anderson , who scored ten points. The game was Anderson 's third in a row with at least ten points. Jalen Ferrell was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Piedmont Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Central Carolina Prep, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.
Piedmont Classical won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Millennium at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Millennium comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Central Carolina Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Carlisle at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carlisle knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Central Carolina Prep likes a good challenge.
