Beaver Island has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Big Bay de Noc Black Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Beaver Island will be strutting in after a victory while Big Bay de Noc will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Beaver Island has not done well against Mackinac Island recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Beaver Island secured a 42-38 W over Mackinac Island.
Meanwhile, Big Bay de Noc unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They took a serious blow against Stephenson, falling 59-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Big Bay de Noc has scored all season.
Beaver Island now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Big Bay de Noc, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
Beaver Island came up short against Big Bay de Noc when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 53-43. Can Beaver Island avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
