Havana has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Central/Southeastern Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Havana will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Central/Southeastern is ranked 45th).
Last Monday, Havana beat Peoria Heights 42-34.
Meanwhile, Central/Southeastern entered their tilt with Illini West with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Central/Southeastern walked away with a 48-38 victory over Illini West on Thursday.
Havana pushed their record up to 14-8 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Central/Southeastern, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.
Havana beat Central/Southeastern 37-25 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Havana since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
