Garinger found their leader in underclassman Misa Garris, who scored 16 points along with 9 steals and 5 assists. The match was Garris' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kim?mya Kelly, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Butler was able to grind out a solid victory over Weddington on Tuesday, taking the game 54-41.
Butler relied on the efforts of Charlotte Hasson, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 1 assists, and Brooklyn Saunders, who scored 17 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Saunders has scored at least 25% of Butler's points. Joy Park was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Garinger has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 7-0 record. As for Butler, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Garinger have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 43.7 rebounds per game.
