Crescent is 2-0 against Concrete since October of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Crescent Loggers will look to defend their home field against the Concrete Lions at 1:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Crescent is ranked 31st, while Concrete is ranked 11th).
After soaring to 58 points the game before, Crescent were a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 52-8 loss at the hands of Charles Wright. Crescent was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-0.
Meanwhile, everything went Concrete's way against Tulalip Heritage on Thursday as Concrete made off with a 40-16 win. The result was nothing new for Concrete, who have now won five games by 24 points or more so far this season.
Josiah Rider continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 165 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jakob Lofton, who gained 84 total yards and two touchdowns.
Concrete's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Micheal Bartel and Lofton who racked up five sacks between them.
Crescent's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.5 points per game. As for Concrete, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
Crescent strolled past Concrete in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 30-12. Does Crescent have another victory up their sleeve, or will Concrete turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
