The Taft Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Rosamond Roadrunners at 7:30 p.m. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Thursday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Taft had to settle for a 20-17 loss against Delano. Taft has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Loss or not, Taft got some senior leadership from Cameron Cash who picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown and Blaine Neudorf who rushed for 15 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Rosamond took a serious blow against Bishop Union on Friday, falling 55-28.
Ty'shawn Flowers put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 466 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Flowers is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chad Curry, who picked up 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Taft's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Rosamond, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
