Niwot hasn't had much luck against Silver Creek recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cougars will host the Raptors at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Niwot took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Fort Morgan with a sharp 14-7 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Abraham Gonzalez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack O'Hara, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Gardner, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Niwot kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek got themselves on the board against Sterling on Saturday, but Sterling never followed suit. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 3-0. The Raptors haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Not much got past Nolan Gaccetta, who gave up just three hits to keep Sterling off the board. Gaccetta also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Silver Creek is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-10 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Silver Creek saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Simpson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Niwot now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Silver Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Niwot's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Cougars have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Silver Creek, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Niwot continue to outrun the ball?
Niwot skirted past Silver Creek 9-8 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raptors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
