The Two Rivers Raiders will head out to face off against Sheboygan Falls/Kohler at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Two Rivers is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
On Monday, Two Rivers came up short against Brillion and fell 9-5.
Sheboygan Falls/Kohler let Omro stack seven runs on them in the fourth inning on Tuesday but luckily Sheboygan Falls/Kohler prevailed anyway. Sheboygan Falls/Kohler sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 win over Omro. With that victory, Sheboygan Falls/Kohler brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Cora Kroeplien was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. Kroeplien was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
In other batting news, Sheboygan Falls/Kohler got a massive performance out of Lola Claerbout, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Claerbout a new career-high. Ava Vorpahl was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base.
Sheboygan Falls/Kohler kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Sheboygan Falls/Kohler's record now sits at 6-8. As for Two Rivers, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Two Rivers got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April against Sheboygan Falls/Kohler by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
