The West Orange Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Evans 68-20 at home. That 68-20 margin sets a new team best for West Orange this season.
West Orange's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zoe Calvez led the charge by scoring nine points along with six steals and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Calvez posted two or more blocks. Zulmalyz Sanchez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Evans lost, one person who can't be blamed is JaKayla Slater. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her.
The victory got West Orange back to even at 5-5. As for Evans, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.
West Orange will be home for the holidays to greet Windermere at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Windermere is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. Evans will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Olympia at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Hopefully Olympia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Monday.
