It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Taft Wildcats can now relate to. They lost to Mendota on the road by a decisive 42-28 margin on Thursday.
Blaine Neudorf threw for 154 yards and a touchdown. Isaiah Lopez was his top target, picking up 72 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Joe Weber rushed for 26 yards and two touchdowns.
Among those leading the charge was Donnie Munoz, who rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Munoz was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Bernardo Camacho got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Mendota, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season.
Taft does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mendota's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fowler at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. One thing working in Fowler's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five matches.
