Santa Fe Christian is 9-1 against Bishop since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Eagles will square off against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Santa Fe Christian was the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over Maranatha Christian.
Will Cavanaugh looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kyle Plasman, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Santa Fe Christian is 4-1 when Plasman posts two or more runs, but 8-11 otherwise. Dylan Haines also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Santa Fe Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Bishop's entered their tilt with Francis Parker on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Lancers. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Clyde Kates made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Kates was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Bishop's let Henry Armstrong and Ian Browne run wild. Armstrong went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Browne went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most RBI Armstrong has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Moreno, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Bishop's record now sits at 16-8-1. As for Santa Fe Christian, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
Santa Fe Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Bishop's in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
