The home team had come away the winner the last five times Holcomb and Gideon had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Bulldogs on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Holcomb's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Gideon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Holcomb didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 20-3 victory against Richland on the 22nd. Gideon has also already played their next contest (against the Rebels), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
