Priest River is 0-10 against the Wildcats since November of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Priest River Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Kellogg Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Priest River has not done well against the Lumberjacks recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Priest River walked away with a 41-34 victory over the Lumberjacks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Priest River.
Meanwhile, Kellogg scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by St. Maries on the road to the tune of 64-36. Kellogg has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Emily Coe, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Jerome, who scored 16 points along with six assists and three steals.
Priest River has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Kellogg, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8.
Priest River was dealt a bruising 61-31 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats in their previous matchup last Friday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Jerome, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
