Softball Recap: Valley's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-9 margin over the Hope Christian Huskies on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Valley got a massive performance out of Naliyah Mora, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Mora a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleyah Lucero, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Valley moved to 7-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Hope Christian, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-4.

The future could be bright for both Valley and Hope Christian: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Vikings will try to hand Del Norte their third-straight loss when the two meet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hope Christian will look to extend Highland's three-game losing streak when they meet at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
