The Walsh Jesuit Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Riverside Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Walsh Jesuit's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Riverside's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Tuesday, it was close, but Walsh Jesuit sidestepped Medina for a 3-2 win. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Battling Bees recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Anthony Alberty looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
On the hitting side, Matthew Mansbery was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Riverside had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They blew past the Hornets 18-2. The result was nothing new for the Beavers, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Mason Pozo looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Riverside's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 11-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Baker, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those home runs marked the first that he has launched this season. Mo Dolce was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Riverside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Riverside pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Walsh Jesuit, their record is now 12-6-1.
Walsh Jesuit skirted past Riverside 5-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
